Thanks for stopping by. I’m Eric.
I’m also a dad. And I try hard to be a decent one. I want my kids to thrive and be happy, while they’re still kids and later as adults.
It’s also fun being a dad. I really enjoy it. It’s an excuse to return to some childhood joys: building legos, doing puzzles, playing games.
But even with 12 years of experience, I still don’t feel like I know what I’m doing most of the time. And being a dad isn’t my only role. I have a job, a wife, and plenty of hobbies and things I like to do.
I don’t want to give up on the rest of me while I try to be the best dad I can be.
So I keep trying to learn from my many mistakes, and move forward. And I try to teach my kids in the best ways I know how. And I’m sharing what we’re learning together along the way.
And I also keep trying to enjoy each day I’ve got. Because, as you’ve probably experienced, it all goes pretty quickly.
Here’s how I try.

Thoughts of future pain made my current struggle hurt more. The key is to catch that mental time travel and come back to now.
